Primary Purpose and Function:

Technical product owners are responsible for managing the development of new products and features. Technical product owners are subject-matter experts who use their technical knowledge to bridge the gap between product and technical aspects of product development. They collaborate closely with designers, developers, and other stakeholders to make their ideas a reality. They bring life to a product by implementing the vision and direction set forth in the product roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout sprint cycles
  • Elicit, document, and prioritize technical and function requirements for software development
  • Ensure technical requirements are clear, aligned, testable, accurate, and maintained
  • Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user storie
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
  • Assist with the planning for product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
  • Collaborate with, but not depend on, other technical team members to understand dependencies and order of technical deliverables
  • Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • 3+ years working in a technical position or Product Owner role;
  • 3+ years working in an Agile Scrum style, Atlassian suite preferred
  • Demonstrable knowledge of 1 or more programming languages (prior developer experience preferred, experience with JavaScript and/or React Native prioritized);
  • Familiarity with advanced QA and test automation tools strongly preferred;
  • Preferred Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field;
  • Strong technical background;
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong knowledge of application architecture.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
